Here we have two solutions. First one is permanently restoring the classic right click menu on Windows using Optimizer app. Other option is accessing the classic right click menu with a shortcut so that you have access to both right click menus.
Permanent Option
Normally this process involves editing the registry files which is not recommended. Because misusing it may cause unstable system behaviors and other issues. Therefore, we are using free and open-source application called Optimizer to safely do those complicated steps for us.
Step 1: Download Optimizer App.
Name: | Optimizer |
Version: | v16.7 |
Last Updated: | 12th January, 2025 |
Size: | 2.5MB |
Security: | safe |
Platform: | Windows (7, 8, 8.1, 10 & 11) |

Step 2: Enable Old Right Click Menu
Open recently downloaded Optimizer app. Go to Windows 11 section from the top navigation.

At the end of that Windows 11 section, you will see “Extras” categories. Under “Extras” category select “Enable Classic Right Click Menu” option.

Step 3: Restart your computer to apply changes
Check top right corner of the application. You will see new button appear as “Restart to apply changes”. Select it to restart your computer.

Once system restart completed check right click menu. You will see old classic right click menu instead of new one.
Shortcut key Option
If you are like both menu types and occasionally want to access classic right click menu, use below shortcut.
Shift + right-click

Is Optimizer being safe to use?
Yes. Because optimizer is not a commercial application with hidden codes and logic. Source code is open to community and available for free inspection on GitHub. This is a free and open source application developed to enhance privacy, security and performance of Windows.
